The mission of Black Air Foundation is to introduce inner-city youth ages 13-15 to Aviation, Filmmaking, Radio and Television production. To meet these goals, Black Air developed the Lambert-Lima Flying Squadron cadet program which includes the following: Aviation—introduces youth to aviation as a career choice, aviation history, the theory of flight, and involves an actual airplane ride. Cadets are also taken on a tour of Quonset Air Museum. Filmmaking—expose youth to the methods used to create documentaries. This program has the potential to position Blacks and minorities at the forefront of the film industry developing in Rhode Island. Radio and Television— provides youth orientation to the methods of the industry and job opportunities. The cadets are taken on a tour of a Radio station and a Television studio. The members of the Board of Director have experience in the fields of aviation, mental health, radio, television and filmmaking—are involved with programming respective to their expertise.
